Arshdeep Singh's parents talk about extreme Indian trolls

Indian cricketer Arshdeep Singh’s parents, Darshan Singh and Baljeet Kaur, have shared that the youngster has not minded ongoing Indian trolls targeting him for dropping Asif Ali’s catch during Pakistan vs India, Super 4 match of Asia Cup 2022.

Indan extremists went far away from trolls, personally targeting Arshdeep on behalf of his race and religion. Dropping Asif Ali was one of the match-changing moments, but the incident let Asif finish the match for his team freely. However, this was not the sole moment against India to cost them the match, including multiple factors responsible.

Arshdeep’s parents say that it does not feel to see people going this far and dragging their son to their unnecessary and fascist comments just because of a match. Some termed the bowler as Pakistani or Khalistani. Also, his Wikipedia page was edited, defining him as Khalistani as soon as the trolls went viral.

Despite some extremists standing against him, there were many who still stand beside one of the best IPL products. Some even changed their profile picture portraying Arshdeep Singh to show solidarity with the young bowler, understanding that win or loss is a part of the game.

Father Darshan narrated that his son even enjoyed the memes and laughed at them instead of taking them personally.

“As a parent, it feels really bad. He is only 23. I don’t want to say much about trolls. You can’t shut everyone’s mouth. Without fans, there is no game. There are some who stand by you no matter what and others who can’t digest a single loss. But at the end of the day, only one team can win,”

“We spoke to him before leaving Dubai after watching Pakistan vs India match on Sunday. He was really confident and didn’t take the troll too seriously. In fact, he told us that he laughed and enjoyed all the memes and messages on Twitter,”
