Former Australian pace bowler Brett Lee has named Babar Azam as his favorite batsman from Pakistan. During an interview, Lee expressed his admiration for Azam’s cover drive, describing it as beautiful. Azam has recently become the fastest player to score 9,000 runs in T20 cricket, achieving the feat in only 27 innings. Azam’s talent has also been recognized by former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting, who believes that Azam’s best form is still ahead of him. Ponting sees room for improvement in Azam’s game and believes that he has the potential to be a successful captain of Pakistan in the future.

In response to Ponting’s comments, Azam said that receiving positive comments from legendary players like Ponting boosts his confidence and motivates him to be better. Azam is known for his consistency across all three formats of the game and has been a vital player for Pakistan in recent years. Azam’s batting style and technique have been praised by several cricketing greats, including Brian Lara, who has called him a “modern great” of the game.
In addition to Azam, Lee also named Wasim Akram, the legendary Pakistani pace bowler, as his preferred choice over Australian bowling great Glenn McGrath. Akram is Pakistan’s most successful fast bowler with 414 Test and 502 one-day international wickets. Lee has been a vocal admirer of Akram’s bowling and has often praised his ability to swing the ball.
