Babar or Sarfaraz? Wahab Riaz reveals his favorite captain

Pakistan’s pace bowler, Wahab Riaz, recently commended wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed, praising his exceptional leadership skills and considering him one of the sharpest captains he has played under.

Having had the opportunity to play under various captains like Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, and Sarfaraz Ahmed, Riaz acknowledged the unique qualities possessed by each of them.

Reflecting on his experiences, Riaz specifically highlighted Sarfaraz’s astute captaincy abilities, stating,

“I think one of the sharpest captains of them all was Sarfaraz.”

He further elaborated on the different styles of captaincy, noting,

“The most sensible thinking captain was Misbah-ul-Haq, while Shoaib bhai and Shahid were somebody who used to support the players a lot.”

Wahab Riaz chooses Sarfaraz Ahmed over Babar Azam

Riaz admitted that he didn’t have much opportunity to play under the current Pakistan captain, Babar Azam, but spoke highly of Sarfaraz Ahmed, reiterating that if he had to rate someone, Sarfaraz would be his top choice.

“I got quite minimal time with Babar. Obviously, he was in his learning phase at that time, but I think if I had to rate somebody, then I would say Sarfaraz was one of the best captains,” Riaz concluded.
