The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has denied issuing the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to its cricketers amidst the upcoming national duties collapsing with the schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).

Notably, two Bangladesh’s cricketers, Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rehman were auctioned by the Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals respectively. Although they marked their presence in the first half of the season but will not be participating in the UAE leg to begin from September.

It is pertinent to mention here that the extravaganza was discarded after coiling up 29 matches as the COVID-19 threats in the country were almost entering the IPL camp. The BCCI unwillingly called the event off. As of now, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set to host the remainder of the world’s cash-rich league.

Already, many international participants have refrained due to the national commitments or either preferring health over the IPL 2021 flowing in the mid of the pandemic. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has also hinted at the unavailability of its players.

It is to be noted that BCB was earlier against granting the NOC to Bangladesh’s Shakib but it had to amidst the old policies. Later, the BCB renewed its policies according to which a player will be acquiring the board’s permission to prefer the franchise cricket over national duties.

Nazmul Hasan, the president of the BCB added that Shakib has no chance of playing the IPL as England will be touring Bangladesh for a three-match ODI, T20I series in September.
