BBL 10: Teams confirmed for Playoffs

BBL 10 has been ongoing since 10 December, 2020. This season was considered to be an exciting tournament with new rules introduced.

The group stage of the 10th season of Big Bash league has come to an end today. The top five teams have been confirmed who will be playing for the playoffs.

Sydney Sixers, the defending champions, have topped the group stage as they gained 36 points. They have won nine matches out of 14 they have won. They are followed by Perth Scorchers with 32 points. Sydney Thunders came third with 31 points. Brisbane Heat comes 4th at 29 points while Adelaide Strikers comes at 5th with 38 points in BBL 10.

In 2019, Big bash league announced that knock-outs were revamped into a play-off system, with the top two teams in the league getting a second chance to make it to the final even if they lost the first match in the play-offs. they were named as The EliminatorThe QualifierThe Knock-OutThe Challenger followed by The Final.

Now the same process will be played again in BBL 10.

The top two teams will play the Qualifiers, the third positioned team will play the Knockout while team positioned four and five will play the Eliminator. You can see the table here.

Playoffs set-up

The Eliminator

Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat will play the Eliminator. It is simple for both sides; win the match to qualify for the Knockouts as the loser will be eliminated from BBL 10.

The match will held on 29 January.

The Qualifier

Defending champions Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers will play the Qualifier, where the winner will go directly to the finals while the lose will have yet another chance at the Challenger.

This match will be held on 30 January.

The Knockout

Sydney Thunders will be waiting for the winner of the Eliminator. The winner of this match will play the Challenger, where they will play the loser of the Qualifier.

This match will be held on 31 January.

The Challenger

The winner of the Knockout will play the loser of the Qualifier will play this match. The winner then play the final of BBL 10.

This match will be held on 4 February.

The Final

The winner of the Qualifier will play the winner of the Challenger to set up the all important final of the Big Bash league season 10.

The final of this BBL 10 will held on 6 February.
