Countdown for much-awaited Ind vs Pak starts

The much-awaited encounter of Asia Cup 2022 is just two days away, and the fans can wait no more to witness the hyped rivalry. India vs Pakistan does not often happen, but when it does, all records, including broadcasters’ earnings, viewership, a house full, and ticket sales, are broken. Similar, some new records are just around the corner – the number of fans visiting the site already crashed the ticket-selling portal for a minute as all Ind vs Pak were sold within a minute, and more is awaited on the weekend.

Ind vs Pak is now only limited to ACC and ICC events. The two teams do not encounter bilateral or tri-nation series anymore. Any such last meeting was in the 2012-13 Ind vs Pak ODI series. Following BCCI’s decision to cut all ties with Pakistan Cricket, their last meeting was ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2021, when Pakistan defeated by the most humiliating margin ever, ten wickets.

Fans await Pak vs Ind whenever ICC Future Tour Programs (FTP) are revealed, but it is always a disappointment not to see any. Nothing can make them happier than knowing that the favourite cricket match of all might take place thrice this time. First, India and Pakistan will meet in the group Stage on August 28th, Sunday.

Both teams are placed in Group A alongside Qualifiers Hong Kong. The rest of the teams, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, are in Group B. The top two of each group will head towards Super 4 and will face each other once. If we are lucky, and India and Pakistan finish at top two spots of Super 4, we will once again witness Pak vs Ind in the Asia Cup 2022 final scheduled for September 11th.

Concerning Pak vs Ind head to head in Asia Cup, it has happened 14 times, with the men in green winning on five occasions and the men in blue succeeding eight times. One of the matches ended with no result, being washed by the rain. Meanwhile, everyone prepares for the big event; let’s take a look at the excitement of fans to cheer for Pak vs Ind.
