Cricket 22 delayed after Tim Paine's nudes, sexting goes viral

The developer of Cricket 22 has been forced to delay the game after Tim Paine’s nudes, sex messages, which he sent to a female co-worker of Cricket Tasmania back in2 2017 have now gone viral after the strict investigation following the complaint lodged.

Big Ant Studios, the Melbourne-based company, although did not directly mention Tim Paine’s sexting scandal in the cancellation posts they put over the social media but the reason is too certain as they wrote ‘factors beyond our control’.

Cricket 22 was due to kick-start from 25th November. It is the first time it has been canceled. Notably, Cricket 22 is a 2021 video game developed by Big Ant Studios and published by Nacon. It is the official video game of the 2021–22 Ashes series of cricket matches, and the sequel to the 2017 game Ashes Cricket and the first sequel to the 2019 game ‘’Cricket 19’’.

Paine resigned from Test captaincy on 19th November in a press conference at Hobart after he was clear that the details are going to be public soon.

It is pertinent to mention that Cricket 22 originally featured Australia Cricket Women’s captain Meg Lanning and Paine in the featured photo but after the sexting scandal, Paine has been replaced by Pat Cummins, who is the vice-captain of Australia’s men cricket team.

The game will now resume by 2nd December. The tweet reads:

To ensure the highly anticipated #Cricket22 game gets to fans by 2nd December, Big Ant Studios are proud to announce that Pat Cummins, vice-captain of the Australian men’s cricket team, will be on the Cricket 22 digital cover alongside Australian women’s team captain Meg Lanning.
