South African fast bowler Dale Steyn, who is representing Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), has issued an apology after remarks about IPL.

A couple of days ago, Dale Steyn said that cricket gets forgotten due to all the talk of money in the major league IPL which is why he decided against playing the last season as well as the upcoming season.

According to the fast bowler, he says that when they go to IPL, there are bigger squads filled with many big names and the amount of money players earn. He feels that cricket is being forgotten with players only talking about money.

However, on other leagues such as PSL or even Sri Lanka’s new league, the Lankan Premier League, he felt that people ask each other about the game situations in the tournament and it’s going for them.

Dale Steyn believed that Indian fans have “misunderstood” his statement on the IPL.

Dale Steyn tweeted on his official Twitter that his words were not intended to hurt anyone or to degrade them.

“IPL has been nothing short of amazing in my career, as well as other players too. My words were never intended to be degrading, insulting, or comparing any leagues. Social media and words out of context can often do that,”

He added that social media and words out of context can often do that, with words can be changed by fans and sets a completely different meaning on what he said. He then apologised to everyone who he believed were upset.

“My apologies if this has upset anyone. Much love,”
