Recently, he has been busy preparing for the West Indies-owned league, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

For his immense love for Pakistan, he has been honored with a civil award, Sitara e Pakistan on 14th August, the 75th Independence Day of the nation.

Zalmi’s owner, Javed Afridi took it to Twitter to announce the news. He wrote,

The St Lucian player once again won the hearts of Pakistanis whilst replying to Afridi’s tweet. He said that he is truly humbled by the honor.

Once again I’m truly humbled for this. Cricket gave me some amazing experiences and Pakistan is one of the best ones. Happy Independence Day #PakistanZindabad

He also wished his Pakistani fans on Independence day writing that,

“Happy Independence Day #PakistanZindabad”,

Sammy was also awarded the highest civilian award last year for his grateful contributions to Pakistan Cricket.

Notably, the all-rounder has gathered 1323, 1871, and 587 runs in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is respectively alongside accumulating a notable amount of wickets.
