Proteas’ AB De Villiers, however, announced retirement from all forms of cricket in 2018 but wanted to bounce back featuring the nation in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The player was in conversation with the head coach Mark Boucher and Graeme Smith and answered their queries saying he ‘absolutely’ wants to play again. But, the new statements have shocked the entity as the discussion between De Villiers and CSA has finalized his retirement from all forms of the game.
CSA posted that “Discussions with him have concluded with the batsman deciding once and for all, that his retirement will remain final” which means that the fans will not be witnessing their star once again in cricket despite holding back a few hopes after his prior statements regarding a comeback.
The social forums, especially Twitter are getting a mixed response out of which, the vast cricket world is saddened over his farewell whereas, a few slams for betraying his country. The critics believe that he is a continuous part of the IPL playing gloriously in form but could not serve his country more. On the other hand, a few believe that he is a talent wasted by the CSA due to the politics inside the board.
