Dinesh Karthik rates Babar Azam

Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has rated Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam saying the skipper will soon be the top-rated batter in all three formats of the game. Karthik, who has just returned to the Indian cricket team after a long gap of three years, joined the commentary panel and analyzed the matches after being sidelined by the crew.

The right-handed wicketkeeping batter believes Babar has that potential in him which can sooner place him on the top of ICC rankings for batsmen in all formats. Karthik, while talking to the media, said Babar apparently has performed in all cricket and fits well in every position to bat on.

What Dinesh Karthik thinks about Babar Azam?

He was asked if Babar can become the number one batsman across all formats, to which he replied,

“One-hundred per cent (he is capable of achieving that). He has been phenomenal in all three formats of the game and he has done well in different batting positions too,”

As far as Azam’s current ranks are concerned, he is the number one ODI and T20I batter. Whereas, is placed 5th on the Test rankings for batsmen. He is the only batter to appear in the top five ICC rankings in all three formats.

The Indian cricketer also wished the best of luck to the Pakistani skipper. He narrated,

“I wish him all the best and think he has the potential. He has got all the following of Pakistan helping him in abundance to go on and do special things for his country,”

Concerning Karthik, the former Kolkata Knight Rider player is representing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 15th season of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2022. In the recent developments, he has been reprimanded for breaching the TATA, during his team’s Eliminator match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 25th at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
