Fans blame Salman Iqbal for Karachi Kings' failure

Karachi Kings are not what they used to be in the last seasons of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). PSL 2022 is seeing an unseen side of the Kings since they have failed to win once in the first three matches of the going on the event.

They lost the PSL 2022 opener versus Multan Sultans on the home ground. This unwanted defeat was followed by being thrashed under Quetta Gladiators and the arch-rivals Lahore Qalandars respectively. Losing from the decent margins place Babar Azam and men last on the points table with a net run rate of -0.955.

There are several reasons why Kings are abruptly failing but fans consider the team owner, Salman Iqbal, as the major object, why the men in red-blue are decaying this time.

The users write it was Salman who let go of Umer Khan, who had been a delight to watch in the seasons before 2021. Also, missing Alex Hales and Liam Livingstone, the fans write it is the team’s owner who released them in the auction.

Iqbal once wrote that give me Babar and pieces of wood and that he will win the tournament. The fans make fun of his strategy that looks failing so far since Azam is yet to clutch a win as a skipper. Some feel it was not a just decision to remove Mohammad Rizwan back then who is now the proven gem of Pakistan Cricket.

It must be noted that the KK won their first-ever PSL title in 2020 defeating Lahore Qalandars in the blockbuster final under Imad Wasim’s captaincy. It makes no sense for the lookouts to see the captaincy roles replaced. People assume since Azam led Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021 magnificently, Iqbal thought it would be great to swap the skippers.
