Pakistan’s Fawad Alam has once again been dropped from the Test squad as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Monday, named an 18-player squad for the England Tests, set to begin in December. It is not something new for the star-studded player since he came across the same right after his debut.
Fawad is considered the name of the patient in the Pakistan Cricket Fraternity. Despite blooming against Sri Lanka on his debut more than a decade back, his international cricket-less tenure forced him to work in dramas earning barely any bread and butter from cricket. However, he continued to perform in a thrilling manner in domestic cricket.
In the ongoing edition of the Quaid e Azam trophy, Alam also came across 14000 first-class runs.
Fawad Alam was eventually struck with luck in 2019 and got selected for the national crew in August. Despite being in the squad, he was benched and could not make it to the playing XI, but he finally got his name in the latter series against England.
A man with long absenteeism from the international fields cannot instantly perform after a decade with the same consistency as domestic. Hence, the England series was not much fruitful for him.
On his comeback, he came across plenty of runs and back-to-back centuries; however, his mismanagement to score runs as of 33 in four innings of three Tests against Australia earlier this year, while he scored 25 runs in his only Test in Sri Lanka, has pulled him out of the England Tests 2022.
Fanatics and experts do not find it justified to drop a player on behalf of a few poor performances. Let’s have a look:
Fawad Alam dropped after just a 1 bad series against Australia
Different rules for different players

How quickly you forget because you're too busy hitting white balls over 50m boundaries.

Gutted for Fawad Alam …If getting dropped after a few failures is criteria, Azhar Ali should be first in line….. Series main aik fifty mar ky jaga pkki kr leta hai…..

Fawad Alam dropped ?
end of road for him I guess. Could have given him both tests in Sri Lanka or one series here but his lack of runs this season in QET hasn't helped his case either
Will always be a faadi fan. Super guy, 100% determined and a fighter for sure

Fawad Alam can consider himself hard done by, after being axed after one bad series, but then his numbers since that Australia tour have not been stellar. Saud on the other hand has been patiently waiting in the wings, scoring runs on the regular at an average of 50+#PAKvENG
