Fans react to Imad Wasim’s threats to PCB

PCB declines NOC to cricketers for CPL except Imad Wasim

Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has spoken out about the injustice he faced at the hands of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) during the previous set-up. Wasim was dropped from the national side after the T20 World Cup 2021, but he made a strong comeback in the team for the Afghanistan T20I series in March this year on the basis of his performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8.

During an interview on Geo News’ program Score, Wasim expressed his frustration with the selectors for not providing a reason for his exclusion from the national team for the last one and a half years. “They [selectors] never told the reason behind keeping me away from the national team,” he said. “I will not sit here and bash them because then, there will be no difference. I put my case in Allah’s court. I trusted my abilities and believed that the world knows about my performance.”

Despite the disappointment, Wasim remained positive and believed that he will make a strong comeback to the national side soon. “I won’t let this happen again,” he vowed. “My actions will be more important this time around. I am at that stage of my career that I have to take a step if they drop me without any reason again.”

Wasim, who captained Karachi Kings in PSL 8, put on an impressive performance during the tournament, despite his team’s poor performance in the league. He scored 404 runs and took nine wickets in as many matches. This performance earned him a spot in the national team for the T20I series against Afghanistan, where he scored the highest 64 runs, including an unbeaten 64.

The all-rounder’s statement highlights the importance of transparency in the selection process and the need for accountability in cricket boards. Wasim’s case serves as a reminder that performance on the field should be the primary criteria for selection, and players should not be excluded without a valid reason.

Imad Wasim’s statement sheds light on the injustice done to him by the PCB, but he remains optimistic about making a comeback. His determination and focus on his performance should be an inspiration to young cricketers looking to make a name for themselves.
