
Pakistan’s right-arm medium-fast bowler, Fatima Sana has been nominated by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the ICC Women’s ODI player of the year award.
During the year 2021, Fatima bagged 20 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 24.90. She also added 132 runs at an average of 14.66.
The 20-years old also received player of the match awards in fourth and fifth ODIs for her brilliance during the Pakistan Women tour of West Indies.
Among the shortlisted candidates for the ICC Women’s ODI player of the year award, South Africa’s Lizelle Lee, England’s Tammy Beaumont, West Indies’ Hayley Matthews.
Lizelle is nominated for her remarkable performances for Proteas scoring 632 runs in 11 matches at an average of 90.28 with one century and five half-centuries. Also, she is the highest-run scorer of the calendar year in the 50-over format from her country.
England’s batter, Tammy’s stats count 503 runs in 11 matches at an average of 62.87 with one century and four half-centuries.
On the other hand, West Indies all-rounder, Hayley enjoys 380 runs in 14 matches at an average of 29.23 with one century and one half-century with the bat 18 wickets at an average of 22.44 and with the ball.
In the recent developments of Pakistan Women Cricket, Urooj Mumtaz, the former Pakistani cricketer, has stepped down as the Chair of the Pakistani Women Selection Committee to focus on her personal aspects of life.
The PCB has welcomed Asmavia Khan, the former cricketer, in Urooj’s role of Chair of the Pakistani Women Selection Committee.
Moreover, Bismah Maroof, Pakistani women top-order batter, is set to take charge of her duties after the childbirth rehabilitation process as she confirms her availability for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022.
