Fawad Alam rubbishes retirement report

Dispelling recent speculations, Test cricketer Fawad Alam has promptly responded to reports suggesting his retirement from Pakistan cricket. Despite claims circulating on Tuesday via Cricbuzz, Fawad Alam has vehemently refuted the notion of concluding his international career with Pakistan, asserting that these rumors are entirely unfounded.

Setting the record straight, the 37-year-old clarified that he has not reached any conclusive decisions regarding retirement. He emphasized that he continues to be dedicated to domestic cricket and intends to extend his involvement for the foreseeable future, aiming for another one to two years, or however long his professional journey unfolds.

Reflecting on his recent performance, Alam participated in three Test matches against Australia in the past year, contributing 33 runs across four innings. He also featured in a single Test match against Sri Lanka, adding 25 runs to his tally. Subsequently, he found himself excluded from the Test squad.

Throughout his Pakistan cricket career spanning 19 Test matches, Fawad Alam has amassed an impressive total of 1011 runs at an average of 38.88. His accomplishments include five centuries and two half-centuries, marking his significant contributions to the sport.
