Good Bye Karachi Kings

good bye karachi

Karachi Kings today have said farewell to this year’s season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 7). They won one match only and lost nine, eight consecutive, to set a record of most losses in PSL history.

The season five champions could not set a winning combination. In some matches, they lacked in fielding, lacked in bowling in others and there were days where they were poor in fielding whereas some games saw all three in one.

The franchise lost key players including Muhammad Amir and Muhammad Ilyas, their crucial players very early in the season. The opening pair failed and the middle order would collapse in every match. In other words, all the teams were just too good for the Karachi Kings.

The only time they played like a proper team was in the match against Lahore Qalandars in Lahore. Amidst a full and charged ground, Babar and co made chasing 150 runs hell for the Qalandars. A team so used to chasing and scoring 170+ runs collapsed on just 127 and provided a glorious, under-pressure win for the Kings.

Another interesting match they played was against Islamabad United. The men in blue and red were put on the task of chasing 191 runs on that occasion. The match saw that side of Kings’ batting, the Karachi fans wanted to see the entire season. But in a typical Karachi style, the team fell short of just one run and valiant effort went in vain.

Nonetheless, the franchise played some good cricket and provided the entertainment a good cricket game does. The fans of the team are disappointed and saddened at the early exit of their favourite team. The fraternity took to Twitter to express their emotions.
