While justifying the selections of Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, and Haris Sohail, the chief selector Mohammad Wasim added that the PCB is looking to maintain an equilibrium between ‘skills’ and ‘fitness’. Notably, there has been vast criticism on electing Azam Khan ahead of the tour despite his weight. Wasim uttered that he has been maintaining as per the goals. We all can visibly witness Azam’s splendid form since his appearance in the PSL 5.

“We are trying to create a balance between skill and fitness. Fitness is important but you have to gage few things. Azam Khan is improving his fitness and goals have been set for him but viewing the need of the team, Azam was preferred,”

The cricketing fraternity has been yearning for Imad Wasim since his truancy as he has been away from the national squad for a perpetual tenure. Imad, profound with the new ball with his economical tactics, is also dazzling with the bat for Pakistan’s mid-order.

Notably, the men in green have been striving with the mid-order distress not affirming an ‘appropriate’ match. Soliciting the woes, the PCB has delegated Imad in the T20I squad who is one of those ‘appropriate’ men to seize the quandaries in middle-overs. Besides Imad, Haris Sohail has been named to the ODI squad

“Scenario has changed behind Imad’s return. If you look at, the coming tour[s] are important but the events after that, including ICC T20 World Cup which will potentially host by UAE. Imad’s record there has been outstanding.”

“We have won six series in a row but still there are weaker areas. It was highlighted that we are facing problems in middle-order. Haris Sohail has reclaimed the required fitness standards which is why we have made changes to strengthen that area,”

Moreover, the addition of Haider Ali might have been questionable despite his dull confidence and form on-dield in the recent series. Before making big decisions whilst a game, he was consistently sought to own tips from the veteran partner on the other end of the pitch. It attracted the limelight due to which people believe that Haider should first be trained before making it to the international level.

However, the social posts now portray another picture after the squads for the Pakistan tour of West Indies, England have been on-screened. The fans say that it is a wise decision not to drop the young lad on behalf of a few poor series. Notably, Haider has been a name of the class in domestic and franchise cricket despite truncated experience in few areas.
