In the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2023, Pakistan middle-order batter Iftikhar Ahmed put on a spectacular performance during his side Fortune Barishal’s match against Rangpur Riders at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Thursday. Iftikhar was sensational as he smashed 100 runs off just 45 balls, including six fours and nine maximums.
When Iftikhar came in to bat, Barishal was struggling at 46-4. However, the Pakistan batter rose to the occasion and stitched a massive 192-run partnership with skipper Shakib Al Hasan to help his side post a mammoth 238 runs on the scoreboard.
Haris Rauf loses his form after marriage
On the other hand, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf had a tough outing, giving away 42 runs in his four overs while picking up two wickets. In the last and the innings 19th over, Rauf was hit for 24 runs, which included three consecutive sixes by Iftikhar. But despite this, Rauf had an impressive performance in his previous three overs, claiming two wickets at the expense of 18 runs.
Since he has been married, he has been striving to collect wickets but has been giving away plenty of runs. Unluckily, three-match ODI series versus New Zealand at home was not either fair enough for him.
Iftikhar’s magnificent innings was met with widespread praise, and fans took to social media to applaud the star of the match. His knock was instrumental in securing a huge total for his team and putting the pressure on the opposition.
