Pakistani speedster, Haris Rauf, is set to feature Yorkshire in County Championship 2022 season.
Haris is set to join the club as part of its new partnership with one of the Pakistan Super League’s franchises, Lahore Qalandars. The programme includes exchanging players among the two parties as Yorskshire’s Harry Brook was signed by Qalandars in PSL 7 draft.
The partnership, that has been announced on 21st December, will also allow players from either side to train and learn in different playing conditions. It also offers scholarships for aspiring players traveling from either sides to either sides. Yorkshire will also have an opportunity to learn from Lahore Qalandars’ player development program.
Whilst opening up on the contract, Director Aqib Javed says the franchise will continue working with different clubs in the same manner in future. In the enlightenment of this signing, the youngsters will get training chances for now whereas, Haris will play for the club in the season.
Notably, Rauf is one of the players who got benefitted from Qalandars‘ player development program first attending the arrangement in 2017. Since then, the bowler has been an internal part of the men in grey-green.
Inspiring the watchers with his pace, he soon got a call from Australia to represent Melbourne Stars’ jersey in the Big Bash League (BBL) and became the league’s star in short course.
However, the fans are not happy over his appointment to represent Yorkshire following Azeem Rafiq’s racism case.
