Harsha Bhogle Proposes Alternate Indian Squad for T20 World Cup

Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has sparked discussions with his revelation of an alternate Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled its official squad, leaving out several notable names.

In a surprising turn of events, promising talents like Rinku Singh and Ishan Kishan were missing from the announced squad, despite high expectations. Furthermore, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill, who showcased their prowess in recent domestic tournaments, were also overlooked.

The BCCI’s decision to name a 15-player squad with four reserves raised eyebrows, particularly given India’s depth of talent. Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to share his thoughts, presenting an alternate squad comprising players who missed out on the initial selection.

Bhogle’s alternate 15-player squad includes Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Ashwin, Avesh Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Varun Chakravarthy, Rajat Patidar, Natarajan, Krunal Pandya, and Ishan Kishan.

Additionally, Bhogle suggested a third squad, featuring Riyan Parag, Deepak Chahar, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Sen, Jitesh Sharma, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, Tushar Deshpande, Nehal Wadhera, and Nitish Rana.
