Hasnain instantly gets big deal after clearing bowling action

Pakistani pacer Mohammad Hasnain has been contracted by Oval Invincibles for The Hundred’s upcoming edition. Earlier today, his bowling action was cleared and considered legal by Cricket Australia’s independent experts after he underwent remodelling his action at ICC accredited centre in Lahore.

His bowling action was found illegal during the recent edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) after the umpires suspected it not meeting with ICC’s legal bowling regulations. A bowler’s action is considered illegal if his elbow extends 15 degrees while delivering.

After his bowling action was found illegal, it was announced that the youngster will not participate in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2022) for the Quetta Gladiators. The PCB also hired a specialist to rectify Mohammad Hasnain’s bowling action.

The bowler was suspended from bowling in all forms of cricket on January 2nd by the ICC in the team’s game against Adelaide Strikers. Hasnain was representing Sydney Thunder in the recent version of the BBL and shone to inspire the masses.

After he has shown appealing performances in the franchise cricket, Oval Invincibles on a sudden note have made full use of the opportunity by hiring him as soon as he cleared his bowling action. Hasnain is now able to bowl in all forms of cricket including domestic, international, and league cricket.

Expressing his joy over the chance to feature in the second edition of The Hundred, the young bowler added,

“I’m overjoyed. The Hundred looked like great fun last year and I can’t wait to get involved. The opportunity to play alongside stars like Sunil Narine, Jason Roy and the Curran brothers is hugely exciting,”
