Rashid Khan goes to Lahore Qalandars, Mohammad Nabi goes to Karachi, and Mujeeb ur Rahman goes to Peshawar Zalmi – fans are not happy with the selections and understands that too many Afghanistan players should not be part of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
As the HBL PSL draft continues, three Afghanistan cricketers have been picked by the three franchises. Although the trio of Rashid, Nabi, and Mujeeb has marvelous skills in leg-spin, all-rounding, and off-spin departments respectively, the Pakistani fans are more conscious about the countries’ relations with each other.
Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan are characterized by the mutual distrust devising through a narrow security prism. Also, Afghan relations with India and conflicts with Pakistan are another reason that the fans do not want to cheer for them.
Recently, there was also a clash spotted between the fans as the Afghan fan beat and attacked a Pakistani fan. Their violence and harassment against the Green supporters and the journalists in and out of the stadium were immense as a number of video footage got viral on the internet.
