India’s talented wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant, faced a life-threatening car accident on December 30, resulting in multiple injuries. Since then, he has been on a rehabilitation journey at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, which has kept him away from competitive events.
Due to his ongoing recovery, Pant was ruled out of the current Indian Premier League (IPL) edition, with Australian star opener David Warner taking on the role of Delhi Capitals’ (DC) captain in his absence.

However, Pant has shown impressive progress in his rehabilitation. Sharing his journey on social media, he recently posted a video on his Instagram account, showcasing various exercises as part of his recovery process. With the caption “Stretching out feeling good,” Pant demonstrated his commitment to regain full fitness.
Earlier, he had also shared a video depicting his health progress, displaying his ability to walk without crutches for the first time. In the empowering video, Pant discarded his crutches and showcased his legs’ condition to his physio. He stood confidently and walked smoothly, unaided by anyone.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals are enduring a challenging IPL season, languishing at the bottom of the points table with eight points. Led by David Warner, the team has won only four out of their 11 matches so far. Their most recent defeat came against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 10.
Looking ahead, Delhi Capitals will face the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday, May 13. Punjab currently holds the eighth position with ten points. After a disappointing loss against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), led by Shikhar Dhawan, the Punjab side aims to bounce back in this crucial match.
