How many times Pakistan have beat India in Asia Cup?

Pakistan vs India cricket match creates hype months before it is scheduled to happen. The much-awaited encounter always creates viewership records. Since one such rivalry is just three days away, Pak vs Ind once again has enthralled cricket fans with their next meeting on August 28th, in the 15th edition of the Asia Cup.

Since the ACC event is all set to kick start on 27th August, and all hands up for Pak vs Ind, let’s discuss the arch-rivals’ meetings in the Asia Cup since its inception. Pakistan and India have met each other 14 times in the tournament, out of which the men in green have succeeded on five occasions, whereas the men in blue thrashed them eight times.

Happening for the first time in the history of the Asia Cup, Ind vs Pak saw India beat Pakistan by 54 runs in 1984. They maintained the winning streak of two in the Asia Cup against Pakistan, beating by four wickets in 1988. The streak was broken when the men in green overpowered them with a considerable margin of 97 runs in 1995.

In the fourth edition of the Asia Cup in 1997, the match obtained no result, whereas Pakistan won the next edition in 2000. They made sure to develop a winning streak of three against India, triumphing in the 2004 edition as well. Men in Blue then took the guts to break it, winning the 2008 version by six wickets. In Asia Cup 2008, Pak vs Ind happened twice, and Pakistan won the last match.

The subsequent two versions in 2010 and 2012, saw India defeating Pakistan by three and six scalps, respectively. Pakistan managed to win the 2014 edition sparing their last wicket. The men in green now await an Asia Cup victory against the men in blue since they did not obtain one in the 2016 and 2018 editions. Pak vs Ind happened twice in 2018, and the land of pacers lost both.

It will be the 14th time Ind vs Pak will happen in the history of the Asia Cup. Both teams and fans from across borders are super excited to witness the upcoming Sunday. As soon as ACC turned the ticket sale live, all of them were sold within a minute.

It must be noted Ind vs Pak might happen thrice in Asia Cup, including the one on August 28th. If they are among the top four, they might again meet in Super 4. Their qualification in round robin Super 4 will shift them to the grand finale scheduled for September 11th.
