If you ask me, we will beat India, says Babar Azam

Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam is confident about beating India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 as his optimism portrays via back-to-back statements over the synopsis. Recently, he added that the men in green are practising how to handle pressure during the ‘all-important’ encounter.

Discussing with the International Cricket Council (ICC), he has expressed a great belief in his team and chances to clinch the marquee event this time.

The two teams are scheduled to kick-start their World Cup campaign facing each other on 24th October at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan have played six T20Is in the venue since 2016 and are undefeated. Seeking men in green’s significant record at the venue, Babar’s hopes are raised way higher than the fans’ anticipation to see Pakistan thumping vs India.

“We’ve been playing cricket in UAE for the past 3-4 years and we know the conditions really well. We know how the wicket will behave and the adjustments batters will have to make. On the day who plays the better cricket, wins the match. If you ask me, we will win.”

Although Pakistan are yet to defeat India in ODI or T20 World Cup but Babar is keen to break the streak this time. The arch-rivals have met in ICC events 17 times and the men in blue led by 14-3. Green Shirts’ have only defeated Blue Shirts’ in the Champions Trophy releases.

Notably, India and Pakistan only play together in either ICC or ACC events as their last bilateral series came back in 2012.
