Imam-ul-Haq set to play first-ever international T20 league

In an exciting development, Colombo Strikers have secured the services of Pakistan’s ODI specialist opener, Imam-ul-Haq, as a replacement for Ireland’s Lorcan Tucker in their lineup. This marks Imam’s maiden venture into a foreign T20 league, as he gears up to represent the Strikers in the highly anticipated Lanka Premier League (LPL).

Imam’s inclusion in the Strikers’ squad comes as no surprise, given his extensive experience in the white-ball format. Having previously represented Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), he has accumulated an impressive track record in T20 cricket. With 78 matches under his belt, Imam has amassed 2,143 runs at an impressive strike rate of 123.37.

As the LPL approaches, cricket enthusiasts eagerly await to witness Imam’s performance alongside Strikers’ captain, the talented Pakistani batsman Babar Azam. Their partnership at the top of the order promises an exhilarating display of skill and finesse.

LPL season 4 is scheduled to take place from July 30 to August 20, featuring a host of prominent Pakistani players across various teams. Alongside Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam in the Colombo Strikers, the league will also see the likes of Naseem Shah, Wahab Riaz, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz donning the Strikers’ colors.

Meanwhile, other Pakistani stars such as Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hasnain, Asif Ali, Mohammad Haris, Aamer Jamal, and Shoaib Malik will be seen representing B-Love Kandy and Jaffna Kings respectively in the LPL 2023.
