India vs West Indies series kick-started on Sunday from a three-match ODI series out of which, the first encounter became a legacy in the Indian Cricketing fraternity. The men in blue stood in their 1000th ODI becoming the first nation to do so.
The historic match took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 6. And, as expected, Rohit Sharma’s men put up an empathic win on the board to make the day more special.
Ind vs WI 1st ODI also marked Sharma’s first ODI as the format’s skipper. The lad showcased a great start to his full-time captaincy of the team India winning the encounter by six wickets.
Notably, ODI came into existence in 1971 but India played their first-ever match of the 50-over format in 1974 against England at Leeds.
