Australian cricketer James Faulkner has suddenly pulled himself out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 2022) citing ‘ill-treatment’ by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) including the payment issues.
What does PCB say on Faulkner’s claims?
PCB, after reading the controversies standing up against it and the league’s image, issued a short statement on short notice. The board claimed Faulkner’s statements ‘false’ and said it will be releasing the detailed clarification in the due course.
The PCB and Quetta Gladiators have regretfully taken note of Mr James Faulkner's false and misleading accusations and will shortly be releasing a detailed statement on the matter.#HBLPSL7

What legit reports have to narrate about James Faulkner’s claims?
At first, he developed financial issues with the board. It must be noted that PCB paid 70% of the salaries to all players before the extravaganza, and the remaining amount was to be paid by the league’s end. Faulkner’s payment was transferred to the Australian bank account he provided but he demanded another payment in another account citing that he is no more using the old account.
The PCB demanded a refund from Faulkner’s old bank but it was denied. Following, the whole scenario was created and the Australian cricketer, who once opted out of Hobart Hurricanes to play T10 league for extra cash, did not play Quetta Gladiators’ match versus Multan Sultans yesterday in protest.
James Faulkner was paid 70% of his tournament fee before PSL even started.
What happened is that he provided incorrect account details & the money was deposited there. The receiver bank has denied to give money back which has caused the delay & all the drama. No issues with PCB!

What Faulkner himself says to defend?
In his statement, he narrated,
I apologize to the Pakistan cricket fans. But unfortunately, I’ve had to withdraw from the last 2 matches and leave the @thePSLt20 due to the @TheRealPCB not honouring my contractual agreement/payments. I’ve been here the whole duration and they have continued to lie to me.
It hurts to leave as I wanted to help to get international cricket back in Pakistan as there is so much young talent and the fans are amazing. But the treatment I have received has been a disgrace from the PCB and the PSL.
Consequences of the plot so far:
As a result, he was asked to fly back home by the board. According to reports, it has been revealed that Faulkner violated Lahore’s hotel’s privacy by breaking its property. Consequently, he had to pay the charges for demolition at the time of check-out. As it was not enough, he misbehaved with the security at Lahore’s immigration.
