IPL 2021: KXIP to make a big announcement

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) are all set to rename Punjab Kings as the IPL 2021 auction is set to take place on 18th February.

The franchise’s downfall is still on the way as they fail to inspire from the last few seasons. IPL 2020 went either horrible for them as KL Rahul-led men failed to make it to the playoffs with back-to-back defeats.

Notably, Delhi Daredevils changed their name to Delhi Capitals, and the Shreyas-led side was seen in the playoffs last season. Seeking their inspiration from Capitals, KXIP are ready to rename themselves, thinking it will work in their favor.

The franchise has sent the application to the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) for approval as per reliable sources. A few sources tell that it has already been approved.

The KXIP organize the mega ceremony to celebrate their new name under COVID restrictions, and the prominent interlinked terms will be invited.

Which country is to host IPL 2021? As per the sources, MA Chidambaram Stadium Chennai Stadium is set to host the 60-match tournament that has tentatively been scheduled for 11th April and is expected to last till 6th June 2021. Though, the official schedule is yet to be released.

This time, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to stay inside its own country rather than moving to the UAE or any other country. The IPL 2020 was entirely held in UAE amidst the poor COVID condition in India.
