Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan, who led Pakistan’s side in the T20I series against Afghanistan in Sharjah, has received the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Golden Visa. Shadab shared the news of receiving the visa on his Instagram account and expressed his gratitude for being honored with the Golden Visa. He also mentioned that he has spent most of his time outside Pakistan in the UAE and feels at home there.
Shadab was appointed as the captain of Pakistan’s fresh-look team in the absence of Babar Azam. However, Pakistan was unable to secure a victory in the first two matches of the series, dominated by Afghanistan. The team, however, made a comeback in the third and final fixture, winning by 66 runs to avoid a whitewash.
Shadab’s contribution was significant in Pakistan’s consolation triumph. He played a crucial 28-run knock and followed it up with magnificent bowling figures of 3/13. His performance also made him the first Pakistan bowler to take 100 wickets in Men’s T20Is.
Notably, seasoned all-rounder Nida Dar had previously achieved this landmark in Women’s T20Is. Shadab’s all-round performance in the final match helped him earn the UAE Golden Visa, which is awarded to individuals who have contributed significantly to the UAE’s growth and development.
Shadab has been Pakistan’s T20I vice-captain for the last two years, and he took up the leadership role in the absence of Babar Azam in the recently-concluded T20I series against Afghanistan. Though the team failed to achieve the desired results in the first two matches, they ended the series on a positive note.
Shadab’s receipt of the UAE Golden Visa is a proud moment for Pakistan, as it recognizes his contribution to cricket and the UAE. The all-rounder will be looking to build on his performance in the series against Afghanistan and lead his team to victory in future fixtures.
