Jadeja hands back CSK captaincy to Dhoni

Jadeja hands back CSK captaincy to Dhoni

In what can be called the recent developments of the 15th release of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022), Ravindra Jadeja has given up captaincy of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), handing back it to the ex-skipper, MS Dhoni. The most successful captain of the Indian cricket team will now lead the Yellow Army for the remainder of the season.

Jadeja’s giving up came as a result of CSK’s poor adventure in IPL 2022 since they have managed two wins out of eight played. The title defenders had a poor start losing the inaugural game versus the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). So far, Jadeja and co have managed to tackle Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

It must be noted that Dhoni relinquished captaincy ahead of IPL 2022. The development saddened the cricket experts and fans. However, with thrills, they welcome Jadeja as the new skipper, not knowing the fade is going to shade. Seeking the consequences, the all-rounder has decided to give captaincy back to Dhoni.

Under Dhoni’s leadership, the CSK have gathered four trophies, which make them the second most successful team of the tournament. The retired Indian cricketer has been leading the Yellow Team since IPL’s inception in 2008.

After Jadeja’s decision, Dhoni has accepted leadership with an open heart allowing the all-rounder to focus on his game. CSK’s Twitter handle wrote,

Jadeja to handover CSK captaincy back to MS Dhoni:Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game & has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK. MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest & to allow Jadeja to focus on his game.
