Jason Roy was the absolute star of the show last night in the match between Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars. The Gladiator put up a firework show of boundaries to register the second quickest century in Pakistan Super League PSL history.
Lahore Qalandars despite an early set-back start managed to aggregate 204 runs, the highest by the franchise in this tournament, by the heroics of Fakhar, Wiese and Brookes. It seemed impossible for Quetta to chase the target given how the team has been performing but yesterday was not that day. Jason Roy, who was playing his first match in this tournament for the franchise came with other plans. Once on the field, the English star destroyed the entire bowling line-up of the opposition and talked only in boundaries and maximums.
The 31-year-old was unstoppable and played whirlwind of a knock to first, register the second-fastest hundred (on 49 balls), and then take his side home in a much crucial match of the league. He thrashed 116 runs for the purple force and the rest of the team finished the job after major work was done by Roy.
As usual, Twitter was all praise for the gigantic knock Jason Roy played, while some also felt bad for the Qalandars who played well despite being on the losing side last night.
Twitter erupts in praise for Roy
💥👏🏻 Dabang Entry in PSL 2022. This was purely a Jason Roy show that has given momentum to Quetta. If they carry this momentum and confidence they surely will be able to reach into next stage.#QGvLQ #LQvQG #PSL7 pic.twitter.com/kIOnlQWpsJ

Some days, you just have to accept that an extraordinary player got the better of you. Jason Roy finishes on 116 off 57 balls against a world class bowling attack. Doesn't matter who you support, we can all agree that was T20 batting of the highest class. #HBLPSL7 #LQvQG pic.twitter.com/ufwtrIotm5
