Lahore Qalandars achieve a milestone

Lahore Qalandars, one of the hyped franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), have qualified for the final of the Global T20 Namibia series. The team’s Players Development Program (PDP) Class of 22 enthralled two out of three matches to hit the spot with grace.

Qalandars’ player development program has been a vital cog over the years to produce skilful players for the national fold. Undoubtedly, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi have been LQ’s superstar products coming out of the PDP campaigns.

In the recent batch of the PDP, almost 10,000 candidates appeared in open trials to portray their talent and get a chance to represent Pakistan in the near future.

Concerning the Global T20 Namibia series, DP World Lions and Richelieu Eagles are other participants in the series. Apart from Qalandars, Lions have booked their place in the final, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow, September 5th, at Windhoek.

Earlier, with the courtesy of LQ’s PDP world-class facilities, four Namibian cricketers fully utilised the opportunities. They thanked their counterpart David Wiese, who made their visit possible to Pakistan and also showed interest in playing PSL alongside Wiese in the forthcoming years.

Picky Ya France, Shaun Fouché, Mauritius Ngupita, and Nicol Loftie-Eaton are the four reported names of the Namibian cricketers who are thankful for the opportunities provided by Lahore Qalandars.

Qalandars, who won the PSL 7, made their dream come true after six years of attempts.
