Malan credits PSL for his international career

England’s left-handed batter Dawid Malan has credited Pakistan Super League (PSL) for providing an opportunity to be recognized across the world and enjoying a great international T20I career. The batter, who has represented Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United in his PSL stint, calls himself lucky to get a chance to play quality cricket in the league alongside top-rated world cricketers.

He feels he has seen an improvement in his international T20I career due to the PSL. It should be noted the batter started his T20I career in 2017 and has amassed 1411 runs from 42 games at an average of 39.2 and an SR of 138.5. While talking to the media ahead of Pakistan vs England seven-match T20I series to be played in men in green’s backyard, Malan was quoted as saying that,

“It was great to play in the PSL as it provided me with an opportunity to explore what I can do moving forward in my career. Obviously, it was a stepping stone in my T20I career,”

Notably, the England cricketer is one of the notable names to play a part in the revival of international cricket in Pakistan. Malan came to Lahore to play the HBL PSL 2017 final when Pakistan was struggling with security issues. The nation has tackled all the challenges coming its way to successfully host the entire PSL and world-class teams for international tours. Malan says he is glad and did not know back then that he was playing a significant role with others in the revival of cricket in Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention here that England Cricket Team has arrived in Pakistan for the first time in 17 years. The seven-match T20I series is set to begin on September 20th. Out of seven, the first four games will take place at National Stadium Karachi, whereas the rest of them will move to Gadaffi Stadium Lahore.
