Match 28: Islamabad United seek to secure a spot

united and qalandars

The latest episode of Pakistan Super League (PSL 7) will see two strong teams, Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars fight with the former hoping to cement themselves in the first four. The latter however will give everything to win to remain in the top two positions.

Their last outing gave one of the most exciting matches of the tournament. Winning the toss, the Islamabad franchise forced the opposition to bat first. Fakhar, Abdullah and Harry helped the franchise to score 174, restricted to these figures by brilliant bowling from Shadab and Waqas. In the second inning, Colin Munro and Shadab took the team close to the win but tight death-over bowling from Qalandars halted the team at 166.

Today’s match between the two would be an interesting one. The red team is not playing with their full-strength squad due to injuries. Previous match power-hitters are unavailable. Asif the temporary skipper, failed to lead his side in their last match, though it was a close one. Lahore Qalandars on the other hand will try their best to shake off the previous night’s loss against Karachi Kings.

Asif’s and Shaheen’s men will come face-to-face in Gaddafi Stadium at 7:30 PM PST.
