Pakistan’s opener Fakhar Zaman received the prestigious ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for April, becoming the first Pakistani player to win the accolade since Sidra Ameen in November 2022. Zaman’s outstanding performance included two match-winning centuries during Pakistan’s victorious ODI series against New Zealand.
Expressing his gratitude, Zaman said, “It is truly an honor for me to be named ICC Player of the Month for April. This month has been one of the highlights of my career, and it was an amazing feeling to play in front of my own people in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi.” The left-hander also mentioned his determination to maintain the momentum leading up to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup and make Pakistani cricket fans proud with his performances.

Zaman’s remarkable achievements didn’t stop there. He became only the 12th batter ever and the fourth Pakistani, following in the footsteps of Saeed Anwar, Zaheer Abbas, and Babar Azam (twice), to score three consecutive ODI centuries. Additionally, he claimed the title of the fastest Asian batter to reach 3,000 runs in ODI history, accomplishing the feat in just 67 innings, surpassing the previous record set by Babar Azam (68 innings).
In the men’s category, the other nominees were Prabath Jayasuriya from Sri Lanka and Mark Chapman from New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Thailand’s skipper Naruemol Chaiwai secured the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award.
