Mitchell Marsh leaves Pakistan tour half-way, set to join IPL 2022

Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of Pak vs Aus white-ball series due to a lower-grade hip flexor injury, however, he is set to join the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) to don Delhi Capitals’ jersey.

The cricketer will soon travel to India and will be available for selection for the Capitals. He was forced to repel from the historic Australia tour of Pakistan since he failed to recover from a hip injury.

His recovery will be handled upon his arrival in India for IPL. New South Wales physiotherapist Pat Farhart will look after the all-rounder following the mandatory isolation period.

Cricket Australia (CA), in a statement, stated that,

“Marsh will travel to India to link with the Delhi Capitals squad where former Australian and current New South Wales physiotherapist Pat Farhart will manage his recovery following an isolation period,”

The cricketer stated to the board that,

“Being able to focus on my recovery without the travel and isolation break is the best approach. I am disappointed to miss the Pakistan series but look forward to re-joining the Australian squad for our next tour,”

It must be noted Australia’s tour of Pakistan is down and dusted with three-match red-ball series. Also, the first ODI of the three-match series ended in the guests’ favour on March 29th. The next two ODIs will be played on 31st March and 2nd April respectively. The tour will be concluded on 5th April with a one-off T20I.
