Indian captain, Mithali Raj joins the elite list of those cricketers with 10000 International runs. She is now the only woman from her country to achieve the milestone.
On Friday, when India were playing their third ODI against South African women, Indian captain made 36 runs to amalgamate a total of 10,001 runs in her career.
After slamming 36, she fell to Anna Bosch unluckily. Notably, Ind vs SA will be winding up a total of five ODI matches.
The next tour for the women in blue will be England as the three lions and Mitahli led side will be voyaging to play a one-off Test.
It will be after 7 years the Indian Women Team will be participating in a Test Match. When they last did, it was 2014.
Mithali Raj crosses all Indian women cricketers to make a record, registers 10000 International runs
Mithali has led her team in ICC World Cup 2017 as well but it was only to lose the final against England. She is a part of the Women’s team since 1999 and serves her nation in all three formats.
The 38-year-old retired from T20Is in 2019 and has 2364 runs in the format. Crossing a milestone of 10000 International runs, she has 6974 ODI runs to her name.
