Mohammad Hafeez Enrolls in Karachi Univeristy

Former Pakistan cricket captain and all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has enrolled in the BS Health Physical Education and Sports Sciences (HPESS) program at the University of Karachi (KU). Hafeez, who is now 42 years old, shared that he was unable to continue his studies while playing professional cricket.

The former captain met with KU Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, and Chairman HPESS, Professor Dr Basit Ansari, at the university’s secretariat. Hafeez expressed his excitement about being a part of the largest public sector university in the country and hoped that the HPESS program would help him achieve his dream of pursuing higher education.

The Vice-Chancellor welcomed Hafeez to the University of Karachi and stated that students would benefit greatly from the former captain’s cricketing experience. He emphasized the importance of sports in the mental and physical development of young people and encouraged the learning of the spirit of competition rather than jealousy.

The Vice-Chancellor informed Hafeez that the university offers both curricular and extra-curricular activities to its students and also provides fully paid scholarships and academic expenses to sportsmen and sportswomen who have brought pride to the country in international competitions.

It is pertinent to mention here that Hafeez represented Pakistan in 55 Tests, 218 ODIs and 119 T20Is over the course of his career.
