When their batting line-up collapse, ‘Rizwan is left’, they said. They know Mohammad Rizwan is the one upon which the team heavily relies. Indeed, Babar Azam’s contribution in every match works as a backbone for the men in green, but the wicketkeeping sensation is nonetheless.

Rizwan, when initially stepped into the team, was crushed under heavy criticism. For more than a year, the appealing performances wonder the watchers in every way as his knocks have turned out to be match-winning often.

From being the National T20 Cup-winning captain to being the second Pakistani with a T20I hundred, Rizwan is stepping in every record-making list.

As the third T20I between South Africa and Pakistan commenced, he joined the forces with skipper Babar to chase 204 runs – that too with 2 overs to spare.

Where Babar contributed 122 off 59 balls, Mohammad Rizwan played an appealing inning of 73 runs coming off 47 balls and chose not to depart.

The duo’s terrific contribution grants several individuals and a team-based record as it was Pakistan’s highest successful chase in T20Is on losing a single wicket only.

Other than this, the 197-run opening stand between Babar, Rizwan is now the highest by any Pakistani opening duo in the T20I format.

It was Babar’s first-ever T20I century as he joins the elite list of Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Rizwan. Babar now has the highest T20I score by any Pakistani whereas, Rizwan lays second on the list surpassing Shehzad’s years-old record.

Getting back to Rizwan, who now has the centuries in all three formats, is improving day by day. From being a PSL winner, he keens to be an asset for Pakistan Cricket in the upcoming days.

Featuring in 13 Tests, he has 754 runs at an average of 44.4 whereas included 772 ODI runs in 38 matches. His 657 T20I runs conclude an average of 38.6 donning the green jersey in 32 matches since 2015.

Not only his bright statical career, but Rizwan is now included in Wisden Cricketers of the Year list becoming 18th Pakistani appearing on the list.
