Najam Sethi could have announced a different team for New Zealand tour of Pakistan

Najam Sethi announces: Breaking News: PSL Matches in Lahore and Rawalpindi to Go Ahead as Scheduled

Ramiz Raja, who was appointed as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), during Imran Khan’s PTI government, has been sacked from his position. The ex-cricketer has been replaced by the government’s favourite, Najam Sethi, who earlier had acted as PCB chairman as well.

As soon as the PMLN’s Shehbaz Sharif overthrew Khan’s government as a result of the no-confidence motion, there were rumours of sacking Raja as the board’s chairman. The rumours barely stayed for a week and were declined with the passing of time.

Nevertheless, they once again rose after Raja termed Peshawar as the red zone for hosting international cricket. On a quick basis, rumours started revolving about Najam’s appointment as the chairman, and these rumours have turned out to be true as the PCB’s patron-in-chief has decided to restore the PCB’s constitution of 2014.

Najam, who has been welcomed to PCB once again as the chairman, was seen talking to a group of local journalists where he was answering multiple questions regarding his regime.

During making remarkable statements, he uttered some controversial words too. He said that although the team for the New Zealand tour of Pakistan has been announced, he could have named a better team with a few changes.

According to the newly appointed PCB chairman,

“Now the team has been announced and no changes can be made, I would have opted for a better unit. There are some changes to be made with a different approach.”
