Naseem Shah, the prominent fast bowler from Pakistan, believes that line and length are just as critical to a pacer’s success as speed. In an interview with Cricket Pakistan, the 20-year-old expressed his disappointment with the Quetta Gladiators’ performance in the current season, stating that the team was not performing as well as they had anticipated in all three departments – batting, bowling, and fielding.

He emphasized that winning T20 matches requires the entire bowling unit, including both fast bowlers and spinners, to perform at their best. Naseem discussed the significance of proper line and length, stating that although speed is essential, it is not the only factor in a pacer’s success. He added that knowing when to swing the ball and utilizing variations can be just as crucial, particularly in Pakistan, where pitches can be unpredictable.

When asked about his workload and the challenges of playing all three formats continuously, Naseem acknowledged the need to manage his workload effectively while also fulfilling his responsibilities as a pivotal bowler for his team. He emphasized the importance of staying in touch with his physiotherapist to maintain his fitness and energy levels.

Naseem also discussed his inspirations in the bowling department, citing Shane Warne as a significant influence. However, he acknowledged the importance of maintaining balance and humility, stating that he prayed only for the success and responsibility he could handle while striving to avoid causing any distress to others.
