National t20 Cup to be 'more' outclass this time

Pakistan’s top-class domestic tournament, National T20 Cup is set to kick-start from 25th September in Rawalpindi. Initially, the first phase was set to be played in Multan but following the New Zealand tour cancellation due to ‘unclear’ security threats, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shifted the event giving a message of peace to the world.

The three-match ODI series was scheduled for Rawalpindi stadium. Before the first ODI kick-started the series, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) posted the last-moment withdrawal shattering multiple hopes, breaking millions of hearts, and especially, the efforts put behind over a decade.

Shifting National t20 Cup’s first leg from Multan to Pindi clearly means to tell that Pindi is safe with no security threats. It will convey the message that not only international cricket, but also domestic cricket can safely be played anywhere in Pakistan.

Moreover, the tournament is going to be different from past seasons as PCB, while working on the ‘peace’ message and a few initiatives, is furious on its terms now. After the NZC has suddenly opted out of the tour, Pakistan’s image, which was built over the years, have been damaged globally.

For the first time in Nt20 history, buggy cameras will be installed. It is heard that PCB will also be inviting international commentators to create the hype. The squad PCB announced for the T20 World Cup 2021, is most likely to undergo the tournament. It will also serve as the practising forum for the green shirts.

Additionally, the national board is considering inviting international players to participate in all the domestic events from now on.
