Netherlands’ coach emotional statement after they qualify for World Cup 2023

Following the Netherlands' qualification for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, set to take place in India this year, coach Ryan Cook delivered an impassioned appeal. After their defeat in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers against Sri Lanka, Cook urged sponsors to support the team in the upcoming mega event. During a press conference, Cook highlighted the relatively low pay of the players in comparison to other countries and expressed hope that additional resources would become available. He emphasized the need for support, stating, "Currently, we only have one full-time member in our coaching staff. It will require effort on our part, and we extend a warm invitation to any sponsors out there who wish to be showcased on the front and side of our shirts during the World Cup." The Netherlands secured a second-place finish in the World Cup Qualifiers, setting them up for their first match against Pakistan in Hyderabad on October 6. Meanwhile, Cook also appealed to cricket boards, particularly those from the sub-continent, to consider inviting the Netherlands for a series prior to the global event. "We call upon anyone interested in playing against us. We would love to have a fixture or two. Our team has had limited exposure to the subcontinent, so it would be valuable to have matches scheduled somewhere in that region," Cook expressed. Here is the Netherlands' World Cup schedule: October 6: Netherlands vs Pakistan in Hyderabad October 9: Netherlands vs New Zealand in Hyderabad October 17: Netherlands vs South Africa in Dharamshala October 21: Netherlands vs Sri Lanka in Lucknow October 25: Netherlands vs Australia in Delhi October 28: Netherlands vs Bangladesh in Kolkata November 3: Netherlands vs Afghanistan in Lucknow November 8: Netherlands vs England in Maharashtra November 11: Netherlands vs India in Bengaluru
