New head coach for Pakistan Shaheens for Zimbabwe tour

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the appointment of former cricketer, Aizaz Cheema, as the head coach for Pakistan Shaheens for their upcoming tour of Zimbabwe. Cheema will take over from Abdul Rahman, who has been assigned to supervise the training sessions at the national camp until the arrival of the national team’s foreign coaching staff on April 7. After the arrival of head coach Grant Bradburn, Rahman will assume the role of assistant coach in the camp.

Aizaz Cheema to Coach Pakistan Shaheens on Upcoming Tour of Zimbabwe

The team manager for Pakistan Shaheens will be announced soon, while Saboor Ahmed will serve as the trainer and Muhammad Asad as the physiotherapist of the squad. The team, under the leadership of Imran Butt, will tour Zimbabwe from May 3 to 27.

The Pakistan Shaheens squad includes players from different regions of Pakistan such as Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Sialkot. The team comprises Imran Butt as the captain and Hussain Talat as the vice-captain. Other notable players include Kamran Ghulam, Rohail Nazir, and Shahnawaz Dahani.

The tour schedule includes a series of matches starting with the first Four-day match at KSC, Kwekwe, followed by the second Four-day match at MSC, Mutare. The 50-over matches will be held at TSC, Harare, HSC, Harare, and OH, Harare. The last match of the tour will be the 6th 50-over match at HSC, Harare, on May 27.

The appointment of Cheema as head coach of Pakistan Shaheens for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe highlights the PCB’s commitment to providing opportunities to former players and investing in the development of young talent. It also shows the PCB’s focus on building a strong pool of talented players who can represent the national team in the future.
