Despite the absence of key players due to IPL commitments, Latham remains optimistic about his team’s chances in the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan. He highlighted that the missing players provide an opportunity for other players to step up and perform.

Latham acknowledged that his team’s preparation for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan has been less than ideal, owing to their recent back-to-back series engagements. “We haven’t had the ideal preparation but that’s obviously what we face and it is something that we cannot control, so you know we’ve come off the back of series against Sri Lanka with some one-dayers and T20s and the guys played some really good cricket,” Latham said.

The left-hand batsman also noted that Pakistan is a quality side, especially considering their recent performances in the PSL tournament. However, he emphasized that his team has players who have played a lot of T20 cricket for New Zealand and are excited about exploring new conditions and putting up a good performance on the board.

Latham is confident that his team will adapt to the conditions in Pakistan, having played some one-day cricket in the country a few months ago. He suggested that the team will gather as much information as possible about the conditions to give them a good chance throughout the series.

Latham has acknowledged the quality of the Pakistan team and the challenging conditions they face in the upcoming T20I series. Nonetheless, he remains optimistic about his team’s chances, noting the opportunity for other players to step up and perform.
