No proper gym facility for Pakistan Women Cricketers

No proper gym facility for Pakistan Women Cricketers

The Pakistan Women Cricketers are propelled to train in an outdated gym, that too without the trainer. Recently, a video going viral showing the outdated gym has caught the attention of everyone, and people feel this is the reason why Pakistan Women Cricket is going through a lot.

Many of the players are left with no option but to train at the outdated National Coaching Centre (NCC), outside National Stadium Karachi. The star cricketers representing the national team in both formats, with many records to their names, are pissed off at the board for taking no action in regard. They find it unjustified that men cricketers are provided with chilled gyms, and qualified trainers to maintain themselves for future programs.

A source on Twitter wrote,

How will Women Cricketers will become Champion if they are provided with an obsolete gym to train in?

The source further revealed that the PCB has set up a training facility from 3 pm-5 pm at National Stadium’s Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre. However, due to the holy month of Ramadan, the women cricketers have requested the board to change facility timing to which they have not gotten any response following the unavailability of staff after Iftaar. As a consequence, the players themselves have set up training facilities during Fasting to keep themselves fit and maintained.

It must be noted Pakistan Women Cricketers recently participated in the ICC ODI Women’s World Cup 2022, however, they managed to win a single match versus the West Indies. They became the first to be expelled out of the event, being placed last on the points table. You must read Why Pakistan Women Cricket Team is an ‘often’ disappointment?
