Pak vs Eng Tests: PCB to make big changes in squad

There have been multiple developments released regarding England’s historic tour of Pakistan for a three-match Test series. One of them has been making rounds on the internet about Pakistan’s squad selection. It has been heard that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to make big changes to encounter the guests in the series.

According to the reports, 18-year-old wicketkeeping batter from Balochistan, Haseebullah, is likely to be preferred over veteran Sarfaraz Ahmed. It is also reported that leg-spinner Yasir Shah will be dropped from the side due to his recent poor performances. In his place, the board is likely to give a chance to Abrar Ahmed.

After Yasir will miss out, the spin bowling will be heavily reliant upon Mohammad Nawaz and Nauman Ali. Mohammad Abbas, who has not been there for quite a while, will also mark his comeback after notable performances in domestic cricket. Since Shaheen Shah Afridi is set to miss the series, his mate Haris Rauf is set to make the Test debut.

Either Aamen Jamil or Faheem Ashraf will be included in the squad as the all-rounding options. Apart from this, there are unlikely to be any changes in the green’s batting line-up as Azhar Ali, Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Imam ul Haq will continue to dominate the order.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Test series kick starts on December 1st. The first Test is all set to be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The second Test, to be played between 9 and 13 December, will be contested at Multan Cricket Stadium. Whereas National Stadium Karachi will host the final Test from 17 to 21 December.
