The most high-voltage clash of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, India vs Pakistan, got winded up yesterday with the trolls, cheers, and celebrations of the fans. On one side, where there were moments of joy, there were the orange-green-white fans, on the other hand who were ignited following the humiliating defeat versus their arch-rivals.
It was not only the match but emotions from two sides. However, Pakistan won the game, dignity, and a lot of many things. There were too many murmurs from the India media similar to the Champions Trophy 2017, and the results ended in the same way – or maybe much more disgracing than before.
During Ind vs Pak, Babar Azam and co won the toss and opted to bowl first. It was undeniably the wise decision on the UAE pitch. Early wickets in the powerplay granted green shirts some extra delights as they celebrated more crazily in every next five overs.
The men in green conceded a target of 152 runs from 120 balls following the strive of Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli after the rest of the quality Indian batters, having years of experience from IPL, departed shortly. The chase already looked easier but certainty comes after the unpredictability of Pakistan Cricket.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan took the matter entirely into their hand as the IPL quality bowlers did not give any other Pakistani batsman a chance with his turn. They added a first-wicket-stand partnership of 150 runs making the record in the history of the T20 World Cup as it turned out as the highest-ever first-wicket partnership in the event.
Indian mediocre bowling attack did nothing but chase some majestic boundaries from Rizwan and Babar. Especially Mohmmad Shami, with whom, Indians must have tied hopes, failed brutally in front of the outstanding green batting attack. He conceded 43 runs in 3.5 overs pulling out no wicket.
Consequently, the emotional Indian fans, with broken hearts, have filled up Shami’s social forums’ inbox with abuses as declared by reliable reports. Not only inboxes but he has been abused online as social posts are visible to every user. The climax of Pakistanis’ happiness cannot be measured on any scale.
Hundreds of messages have been thrown on his social accounts as the fans comment on him as a traitor and raise their voices to pull him out of the team. However, the Muslim community has stood up in his defense rejecting the hate message.
Omar Abdullah, a former chief minister in the Muslim-majority region of Kashmir, said on Twitter.
“Team India your BLM knee-taking counts for nothing if you can’t stand up for your teammate who is being horribly abused and trolled on social media,”
